Edificio VELA is a new apartment building on Calle Rey Carlos III, one of the busiest streets through the centre of Águilas. It has six floors of homes above a ground floor given over to a shop unit, parking and storage rooms, with a further car park in the basement. The street front is built out in deep horizontal terraces — every apartment has one — so the living rooms behind them take light across the full width of the façade. Three apartments are on offer, all on the middle floors, each with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in about 168 to 178 m² built. The floor plans show an L-shaped layout: a long living and dining room with an open kitchen running along the terrace, a main bedroom with its own bathroom, a utility room and two further bedrooms grouped at the quieter back of the flat. The penthouses on the top floor, with private pools on their terraces, are not among the homes currently offered.

Location — central Águilas

Águilas is the last town on the Murcian coast before Andalucía, built around a rocky headland topped by the castle of San Juan de las Águilas, with a sandy bay on either side and the fishing harbour tucked beneath the castle hill. Edificio VELA sits in the grid of streets on the western side of the centre, about 150 m from the sea: Playa de la Colonia, on the Poniente bay, is roughly 200 m away on foot. Shops, cafés and the market are all part of the walk home, and each February the same streets fill for the Águilas carnival, one of the best known in Spain.
