A villa set on the top of a hill above Moraira, which is the whole point of the design: the house opens to the landscape on every side rather than presenting a front and hiding a back.

The ground floor is a single open plan — living and dining running together and continuing outside. The living room opens at the rear as well, so sightlines pass right through the house and the light comes from both directions. The bedrooms are placed by orientation rather than by hierarchy: two face east for the morning, the main ground-floor bedroom faces west for the evening. Outside, a deep main porch runs toward the pool and the view, and a smaller pergola at the back gives somewhere to sit out of it.

The entire upper floor is given to the master bedroom alone — a single room at the top of the house with a panorama of nearly 240 degrees. Materials used outside are carried indoors, so the interior reads as a continuation of the terraces rather than a separate scheme.

Location — Moraira, Teulada

Moraira is the coastal half of Teulada, between Calpe and Jávea. The town is kept low by municipal rules, with a fishing harbour, a marina and a string of coves in place of one long beach.

This villa is not a beach house: it sits about 2.2 km inland and up, with Cala Baladrar the nearest cove. The hilltop position and the 240-degree outlook are the trade for that distance.
